Why do people want to bring their identity politics into sports? Oh, because the left finds it fashionable to discriminate on college campuses regardless of federal dollars.

Look, I don't believe that dinosaurs existed 2,000 years ago anymore than I believe a male can transition and become female. Neither can be proven scientifically. Both are irrelevant when deciding which programs make your conference more financially stable. It's about money, not about belief systems or ideology for that matter. It is about financial stability!

I don't want to play another FBS start up that's my beef with scheduling them, but maybe the presidents do not want to be associated with a school that is known as a diploma mill, whose founder blamed 9/11 on gay people and several other outlandish claims. Liberty is a disaster waiting to happen, they hire Baylor's EX AD who was forced to resign from his last job because he was involved in a conspiracy to cover up rape by his players. You keep saying it should only be about sports, but these are first and foremost academic institutions, and rightly or wrongly the other schools in your athletics conference create associations between those schools and your own in the minds of the public, and no one in their right minds wants to have their school's reputation tied to that of Liberty's, and/or risk alumni refusing to donate or otherwise turn their backs because they don't approve of what Liberty does.

It’s not that Liberty is a Christian University. There are tons of respected Christian universities out there. It’s the fact that this particular Christian University teaches fundamentalist wackadoodle things.

Cal, Baylor and Notre Dame are 3 very highly ranked institutions of learning with over a hundred years of good athletics (maybe not so much Baylor), Liberty is not. They are not worth the risk. Period.

I loved what JD was doing before his injury but it really hard to argue with this. We had A&M right where we wanted them before that pick. Their fans would have been heading home had we scored there.
