I am constantly amazed and inspired by people. To be so absolutely wrong about something and to still cling to those erroneous beliefs so feverently, despite logic and empirical data, is a true inspiration. I had a wife like that. Had.
You shouldn’t be. To be human is to have cognitive biases.
The challenge for humanity is to teach people how to recognize those biases and work to eliminate them from their thinking. Sadly, logical thinking and skepticism isn’t taught in schools. I know subjects like history are important, but is it really more important than knowing how to think rationally about the world around you?
If you're directing this statement to the Liberty University "Earth is only 10,000 years old", from their unfortunate misunderstanding of biblical timetables... then I agree. If this is still in reference to sex and gender... I must disagree. As humans better understand gender behavioral and emotional issues, they'll hopefully not "bend" science to support it. The science remains there for us to explore. But gender is not the only human behavioral, emotional, psychological issue to understand. Coming up with "bending" and "spectrum" and "continuum" is perfectly ok. But that is not science or biology. Those are filler words until we more fully understand ourselves.
Dating Earth is science... and it is irrefutable.
Oh... and your wife (ex) was an improper subject for your clinical work. I learned the hard way as well. Being right (as in logic and empirical data) may impress your colleagues... but it does nothing for the female sex/gender.
You need to know when you are the teacher... and when you are the student. And in a marriage, the man is a student (carefully and infrequently teaching... in very subtle ways) and always a student of the female mind. You will never master the female mind. When you think you have... you are in deep deep trouble.
