Thread: Tail Gate Spot Parking Policy (merged)

You are correct. It is a problem but worrying about those people is just not a valid use of our time or efforts. They will do it regardless of what we feel about it. I worked at a company where the head honcho was at the copier on fridays making copies of the parking passes to give to friends so they could enter. He color coded them and everything and it must have taken him an hour or two just to get them to look like the original. This was the head of a company doing this and not thinking there was anything wrong with it.

The skirting of the system is that only one person had to join the RCAF...while multiple people contribute and/or participate in the tailgating spot. Or at least that is the perceived skirting of the system that has caused the administration to whack the pinata that is it's already loyal fans.

    Go UL-L or UL-Lafayette ... your choice ... *sighs*
If you have a tailgate spot, you've already been doing this. Now, your RCAF donation that accompanies your fee for the tailgating spot doesn't guarantee you a parking spot at cajun field which is likely what many people are upset about

You can have 20 people go in on a spot but you don't receive 20 TG passes. Besides, these passes are not guaranteeing you any parking spots in any of the lots.

I wasn't pointing out anyone in particular, but I know several people hand passes across the fence, etc. That is against the rules. We have a problem in society of not feeling the need to follow rules that we don't agree with. Speeding, drinking and driving, etc. People have the right to question, protest, whatever they want to get the rule changed, but until it is changed, the rule needs to be followed.
Just to clarify, we have never handed tickets through fences or anything like that. I meant shuffled passes as in used TG passes as parking pass, leaving the rcaf parking passes left over for non rcaf/season ticket holder family members to use.

With this new rule, my siblings will have to pony up, car pool or walk (or possibly quit coming bc they don't care that much).

There is no blame to go around...and any ill will you have for them is misplaced, petty, and immature. If you were in their shoes...would you take offense to someone lauding the loss of a 100% allowed practice that made their tailgating experience enjoyable?
Not sure where you got any of that from my posts, but cool story. All I said was that people are complaining about having to walk a little bit extra because of the new parking rules, and I don't feel sympathy for said complaints. It was not an attack. It was not an accusation. It was me freely expressing my opinion.

Keep harping on this issue all you like. I have time.

They used to if I remember correctly. The TG passes used to guarantee a spot in the D parking lot...I could be wrong on that.

Ok admittedly I didn't go back and reread every part of your conversation.

I just read his last comment as couldn't due to career, followed by couldn't due to being in school which I took as more of an afford than a being around.

I read your choices comment wrong thinking you were pitting tailgating vs education.

Sorry if I implied that. It wasn't my intent.
