Thread: Selections for new coach

I knew we were screwed when we named Masson the starting QB over McGuire. I knew we were screwed when Bustle bent over to get raped while his players had the initiative and mindset to pull off an upset in the money games. I knew we were screwed all along and was just waiting for everything to blow up in our faces. We showed the ability to be a great football team this year by beating a good K State Team and being 4-2 going into Homecoming (what this team was capable of) but then its like bustle just gave up for NO REASON. His initiative and mentality just seems to got to midseason and he is totally oblivious to himself being the problem because of his poor decision making.

We need a coach who is confident in his players abilities and wont do the MOST OBVIOUS FREAKING THING IN THE WORLD BECAUSE HE KNOWS THATS WHAT THEY'VE DONE BEFORE.

I am still convinced Brad McGuire can throw the ball just as good, if not better than Masson, Masson has only impressed me in the Southern game, and thats cause its Southern University, a .500 at best FCS school, we are supposed to perform like that against a team like that.

I am still convinced that we need to get more aggressive and be more aggressive on offense and defense and attack the opposing team. I am convinced the players have that mentality but the coaches totally lack that and its now starting to have an effect on the players. If he can pull out 2 wins against Ark St. and Midd Tenn St. (which i highly doubt) then he might be able to save his ass. but he has to do some extremely quick change of game plans cause what he is doing is OBVIOUSLY NOT WORKING. but Being the person he has been so far, i doubt he will fess up to screwing his players and admit that he and his coaching staff were the main reason why we have been performing like we have. I doubt he is smart enough to make those adjustments and save the season.

I pray to God that he will suprise me and my thoughts on him the whole season are wrong.

as someone posted earlier, we will have him as our head coach for one more year. the administration will not buy out his contract. "by golly, if i'm paying him, he will work." can't you see that mentality? we fans just need to bite the bullet and hope that the right decision on a new hire is made after next season, because we all know that it is inevitable. we all know what next season under bustle will look like. don't we? one more thing: we must make sure that the team knows we are not down on them. i still support and will pull for these young men to the bitter end.

When the change does come, Please no High School Coach. I don't mind if he has high school coaching experience, but we need someone who knows what they are doing at the college level. Either a very successful lower division college head coach, or a successful assistant at a BCS school. I would even go with a former D1 head coach, like the guy from USM. A coach that is more hands on in recruiting, because that is where success starts.

    Re: deadend...
wow, didn't realize this until now...every living UL coach ended his career here...all in real estate or insurance or whatever. That's not a great come on.
