This board does not want to read this article (at least some of this board). First, it discusses how not only is the season not over, but that the Cajuns are in a strong position to snag an at-large bid given the two-game lead in conference with two weekends remaining. They actually control their own destiny.

It also discusses how Louisiana is loaded with quality arms, which we all know is not true.

"In the two games I attended this weekend, it was very obvious that Louisiana is loaded with more quality arms than it has had in years, even despite allowing eight runs in Saturday’s loss and 13 more in Sunday’s win. Superstar stopper LP Langevin wasn’t his best Saturday, and Troy beat him, but very few pitchers in the country can match his stuff, particularly from his low slot. Then, if that is not enough, the article covers the disciplined Troy offense that ranks second in the nation in walks, how they are difficult to contain, and how opposing pitchers must be exceptionally sharp to beat them ... and how they are especially tough in this ballpark.

Nope. Nothing to see here.

Well, I did like the accolades for Debo ... described by Fitt as the most talented player in the Sun Belt ... and a marquee talent at the plate and in the field.

Thanks Brian, but I won't be reading Aaron Fitt either. I'm glad he made time to actually watch the Cajuns play in person. Nothing Aaron stated in this article hasn't been told to me and others that attend the Diamond Club meetings and have talked with the staff. Time will tell whether the Coastal and Troy results were simply anomalies or something that should be a concern finishing the season. We will find out from the next two series.

Post season is all about who is hot, always has been in college, professional baseball and other sports.

The 2014 Ole Miss team was 12-8 in their last 20 games including 1-2 in the SEC tourney, before hosting a regional. They then won three straight in Oxford, came here and took two of three from us. They were not a national seed but got to the semi-finals in Omaha and came in third. They had a good team obviously, but got better at the end.

... or ... Fresno State in 2008. They were only in the field as a regional #4 seed because they won their league's auto bid. Then proceeded to win the national championship.

I watched every inning of the 2022 OM-USM Super, which OM won 10-0 and 5-0 in Hattiesburg, of course. Ole Miss was 8-3 in May to finish the reg season. 0-1 in the SEC tourney then won five in a row to get to Omaha and win it. Getting hot in May is so big.

I would suggest that it is way more important to get hot in June if you are going to win the CWS than it is to get hot in May.

In all, if you win the CWS, you were probably pretty hot most of the season and all in all, May is really not any more important that the 4 months before it and certainly not as important as June.

Did a comparison of ERA #'s from the 13, 14, 15 and 16 years. Here is where we would stand today if the season ended. Green means we were better in those years, Yellow is equal and Red means we are better this year than in those years. I only compared 1:1, 2:2, etc.
