Once you get past the top 10 pitchers IP drops way off every year I would guess. So you could just copy and paste all those years off ragincajuns.com and see what you’re looking for…
On a different subject from earlier in the game thread; we were discussing building/recruiting a team to your ballpark and style of play. I think the total scholarship number for baseball used to be 14.7 or something like that. Not sure what it is now. I know robe was a pitcher heavy coach. Does anyone have an idea how UL scholarships are broken down between pitchers/hitters???
11.7 scholarships
Under NCAA rules, a Division 1 baseball team’s 11.7 scholarships can be divided between a maximum of 27 players on a 39-player roster, with all players on athletic scholarship having to receive a minimum of a 25 percent scholarship. That leaves room for eight walk-ons.
Thanks. So 11.7 for 27 players. That’s .433 scholarship avg per player. If every player has to have .25 x 27 is 6.75 from 11.7=4.95 to divide amongst the better players you want to offer more. Not much. To work with.
But you can see where a team could use more scholarships on hitters or pitchers for the style they play or the park they play in..
NIL has basically wiped out the advantage we used to have from tops.
You all might bash ole Vic but the guy knows his baseball better than most. He’s on point with his assessment of us. He’s is the eternal optimist but I believe him on the diamond sports!!
