Thread: Ugh, I mean just...UGH!!!

Some on here wanted to go Independent, well that's a team you play when you're Independent. From ESPN in February of 17':

"Liberty had recently tried unsuccessfully to gain membership to the Sun Belt, so it is expected the Flames will initially opt to be an FBS independent during the two-year reclassification process that will begin with the 2018 season and include three FBS home games. The program will be bowl-eligible starting with the 2019 season and will be required to play at least five home FBS opponents."

Anyway, this is not a terrible add to the schedule. Yeah Rice, Houston, UTSA, Vandy, Kansas all sound like they have better appeal, but remember, they have to schedule US too. Maybe the Cajuns aren't the most appealing home and home they want to take on.

No one will travel to this game and no one will attend this gane at Cajun Field.

We would have done better playing a local Southland or SWAC team. At least we would not have to return the trip.
I will go. Virginia is beautiful in the fall.

Yeah. But not with a Scott Farmer.

Right now he is filling holes in our schedules, like a 6th game in 2019. The swim coach was fine with 5 home games.

They were willing to pay the conference money to stay in it. And they certainly weren't costing us any more money than flying to Appalachian St or Coastal Carolina. The footprints will indeed get smaller in future conference realignment. I hope small enough to dump the Eastern members of the SBC.

I don’t think Liberty is a bad add to the schedule either. The AD is clearly trying to find some home-home relationships so there’s more to look forward to than the same conference teams. Wish it was USM, Tech, and Tulane but either their schedules are booked or they don’t want a relationship with us.

Home fcs or Home FBS Indy? I think it’s a no brainer since that spot is normally a SLC school
