Curious as why so many are against Liberty in the SBC and CUSA. Liberty goes FBS next year. As you pointed out, they have a $50M budget and that is as an FCS school. And their facilities are as good or better than any school in either conference.

I checked their schedule for the next 3 years. Very impressive.

2017 - Baylor - Liberty won on the road
2018 - Army, N Texas, New Mexico, New Mexico State, Troy, UMass, Virginia, Auburn
2019 - Syracuse (Home), Louisiana, Buffalo, New Mexico, New Mexico State, Rutgers, UMass, BYU, Virginia
2020 - VA Tech, Bowling Green, Syracuse, S. Miss (Home), Virginia, NC State, UMass
    2021 - Louisiana (Home)

I wish UL had a similar schedule.

Doesn't look like other FBS schools are having a problem playing Liberty. So, why all the heartburn? Is it because it is an FBS startup? Can't just be because it is a religious school. If so, what about Baylor, TCU, BYU, Notre Dame?

Why did both conferences turn down a $24M offer from Liberty to join? Curious as to how UL voted on this. Anyone know?

Per Sunbelt it was geography. They wanted CC instead of a Virginia school

So they're either going to be so good we can't compete with them, or we're going to be so bad we can't compete with them? I thought that thinking left the building with Scott Farmer.

That was what they told the media, I'm not buying it. It's pretty simple, politics and their $50 Mil budget. When you look at what App. State and Georgia Southern have done their first 3 years in the conference, with better facilities and the largest budget they would dominate the Sun Belt.

Because Liberty’s science classes teach that Jesus lived with dinosaurs.

As you know these decisions are made by university presidents. Liberty is not the type of school they want to be associated with. I don’t really blame them.

We know what many University Social Science and Humanity studies teach, we see their handy work every week protesting and burning campus and community property. Should we have a litmus test for these universities as well? Seems hypocritical of you and others to constantly slam this university and don't won't any association with them. It's sports for damned sake, get over yourself CUPCAKE!

I hear Robe prays to that Guy. Should UL disassociate with Robe? Would you blame UL if they did?

    Robe prays to Jerry Falwell?

It’s not that Liberty is a Christian University. There are tons of respected Christian universities out there. It’s the fact that this particular Christian University teaches fundamentalist wackadoodle things.

Yeah, the litmus test should be one question: Did brontosauruses exist 2,000 years ago?

If no, welcome to the Sun Belt.

If yes, y’all are freakin crazy and we don’t want to associate our school with freakin crazy people.

Do you really think we’re the only conference that said hell no to them?
