    Originally a $10 million project.

There was $5-6 million raised from various folks. Russo agreed to match with $5 million in incremental payments.

This put us at about $7 million. 70% of the original cost.

And the University was gonna have to get a loan to pay Lemoine in the interim.

Cost went up to somewhere between $17 an $21 million. Is this additional $$$ what the University is now scrambling to get?
Monkee, I think you may have the cart before the horse here. I believe that Russo pledged 5MM in matching funds; then we got pledges for $5MM or $6MM, collecting only $2MM. Russo forks over the first $1MM of his pledge.

We now have $3MM banked, $3MM or $4MM pledged from non-Russo sources, and complete uncertainty as to whether we will ever get another nickle out of Russo, because of his legal issues.

All or some of the uncollected pledges may have stipulations about RCAF separation as a condition of payment, which could affect our ability to collect them.

It's no rumor unless you are calling a $50K donor to the Tigue Moore project a lier!

You will never find a fund raiser that goes in promoting or explaining fallback options.

Project fundraisers go in with big promises and an intense sense of urgency.

Trickle down urgenomics and recent memories of various delays created the recent mood on RP and on Birds Eye View today.

But to answer your question, no fund raiser will ask for money and offer up the option of borrowing money.

"Donor funded" doesn't mean "no loan/bond."

I agree he should never offer fall back of borrowed money... First, that borrowed money should have been secured very long ago and should have always been a phone call away. Second, borrowing money was never part of the plan. Third, if you want to talk about all this silent phase nonsense and you never get to the public phase... You better make sure that exactly what is happening now doesn't happen... Which is why what i said first is most important. You have embarrassed one of the best men at this university and a fan base that always wants to give and help. All of this quiet, gag order bullsht... Can you imagine what tony has been going through for the past couple weeks? While our AD is on vacation? And mr moon tried to be a smart az about that too... Uh yeah Scott is on vacation... I take them too. Well mr moon would you schedule a vacation for the weekend of the new orkeans bowl? Would you schedule a vacation during any of the conference tournaments? How about Omaha, why don't you schedule a vacation somewhere else every year during the college World Series.

Here's everything you need to know:

    - We are building a $17 million dollar stadium.

    - It should be completed a few weeks into the start of the baseball season.

    - It will be freakin sweet.

Here is my last comment to you because you are reaching for straws now. Contact your UL System Board members and ask this question. Or, you can go back to the minutes of the particular meeting and read them. Too many people have to be lying for me to believe the information that was put out today on a certain radio station. He has not contacted either board member to my knowledge as of late this afternoon and is going on the comments of the person that has been caught with his pants down once again.

It doesn't and you never mention loans to silent phase donors.

UL's mistake was in not hiring a dedicated fundraiser through out the entirety of the last oil boom. Instead waiting till an oil recession was in full gear to do so.
