Trying to keep up with this from afar...question. What was Lemoine's winning bid on the job? Was it 10mm or something else? When was the bid awarded and were any added features added after the bid was awarded. I'll hang up now and listen....

It was my understanding that Dr. Savoie signed off on a 16MM to 17MM stadium renovation. I do not know the actual amount of the contract, but it is public record.

    My bad.

Honest, sincere Zeebart-induced hugs and kisses back at you.

But seriously, early on in this thread, it was a $2 million figure that was pulled from the project. Then somebody said they had spoken to Robe and in fact, the amount was $250k.

    Which one is it?

And while I don't work with multi-million dollar projects, I have worked on grants that have approached 7 figures.

Our Budgeting Division will absolute not allow me to appropriate ANY money whatsoever without some form of offical documentation from a grantor. And this has to be done by ordinance (I know we're talking about two different levels here).

And once that money is appropriated, our Purchasing Division will absolutely not issue me a work order withouth the appropriate revenues being encumbered. And once a dollar is encumbered, it is untouchable. So for instance, if I have a $500,000 appropriation for a grant AND ENCUMBER the entire amount for a contract, I can't so much as buy a pencil with ANY of those $500,000.

I'd have to unencumber money from the fund, but Purchasing is gonna question whether or not the contract deliverables have been satisfied.

I just have a hard time reconciling an insititution (yeah, insert the obligatory "well the inmates are running it" comment) the size of UL doesn't have the same built-in mechanishms.

But even more seriously, Zee induced hugs back at you.

It would blow your mind, the checks & balances that we DON'T have up there.
Find David Walker on a golf course somewhere and ask him about that..

Tetragrammaton has got to be either Scott Farmer or Jay Walker.

In recent weeks Scott Farmer came clean in an RCAF Executive meeting that actual amount in the fund was $3 million. This was verified by the person I mentioned that has since committed to a $50K donation.
So, if I'm reading this correctly (and I really think I am), the only person who has contributed is Russo.

Russo has made three installments of $1 million apiece.

There's $3 million in the kitty.

Admittedly I'm speculating here, but I think his first installment will be (or was) this year. I believe $2 Mil has been raised outside of Chris up to now..

I'm the one that verified the $250K donation, it was not the $2 million as someone thought.
