For example, if what you say is true, mcneese could contract to have a $100 million dollar badminton court constructed and approved. Should they not have the funds to actually cover the project the state would eventually be left holding the bag. In other words, the taxpayers would be paying for that badminton court.

No they wouldn't because the badminton court would never have been built... They would be where we are... In a holding pattern. We have not done 3 million worth of work yet. That's why lemoine is smoke and mirroring and going along because we can still pay for what is going on... The day they know we can't pay, you will see all their stuff leave. As of right now we only owe what's been done and any penalties... We don't owe anyone 17 million yet.

I agree with you! I don't get all this how can the board approve this questions when the problem is ours because the same individual responsible for the Lamson Park problems mislead people again. The UL System Board did their job, they are not responsible for our incompetence.

Then I truly don't understand what the purpose of the board is to begin with. I've never been under the impression that they just 'rubber stamp' approvals, without doing some basic vetting of what the schools are asking for is valid or not. Maybe I was wrong about that....it wouldn't be the first time, lol.

But I'm still not even sure what the issue is that's being said here: did we not have enough money? Or did we have it, and now it's gone?

One thing we can all agree on, this lack of communication from the admin is pretty intolerable.

With all that you state, one has to completely ignore the fact certain criteria were committed to by our administration and people were mislead to get us to this point. The UL System Board is not our problem, the person who is the face of your athletic program is our problem.

Well, I agree with that....and sorry if I wasn't more clear about that. The point I was trying to make is that IF we did something wrong, then the ULS board should also be held accountable....for not holding us accountable. That is what they are supposed to be there for. Just my opninion.

The project will consist of 2 phases to be performed between the offseasons of the 2016 and 2017 baseball seasons. Phase I Includes the addition of 2 concession decks behind the existing 1st and 3rd Baseline stands which will remain as well as the installation of new stadium lighting. Phase II includes the complete demo of the existing grandstand to allow for a brand new 47,000 SF Facility which will include a new grandstand, new concessions, a club room, press box and 10 new suites. This renovation will bring the total Baseball stadium capacity to 4,570 seats.

I can see the board approving and stipulating money has to be in hand (in full) before approval to start construction. If that indeed happened, Farmer shouldn't have been lying to everyone about the start date, money in hand, etc... He should have been focused on raising the amount of money needed to get the damn project started.

Sorry, but I'm not going to question the very people that have given this president everything he has asked for including auxiliary fees, facility plan for campus, athletic facilities and raises for coaches. It's not their fault we stumble upon our own feet with incompetency.

This stadium has got to get built pronto. Let's do some value engineering, scrap the bricks for now to lower initial outlay. Then kick off another 'donate a brick(s)' fundraiser then brick The Tigue the following year. Every brick you donate earns you 5 Priority Points! Want to donate/pledge a pallet of bricks? Great! Get double points, UL baseball cap and baseball autographed by Coach Robe/players. Whatever, just something to show appreciation. Maybe that doesn't raise enough funds, but the folks on Reinhardt need to figure out how to make it happen ASAP as promised to the program and fans. Leadership d*mm*it!

I agree....and to add, the face of the Athletic Department is being enabled by the President of this University because he keeps him around. T JOE signed off on this project.
