Thread: Overpowered

  1. Default Re: Overpowered

The difference in the game was a 17:51 period of time between 11:30 in Q2 and 8:29 in Q3

Beyond that specific time frame, Louisiana matched Arkansas point for point.

These guys will rally. You can't keep a talented team down for long.
it was a 13 point game at the time ....but remember first Patt was about to make a tackle and got blocked an knocked down from the back (-7pts)....we missed a very easy fg (plus 3 pts) -------- now a 3 pt game with the ball at mid field....I could be off with the chronology but still we were close...

I may be wrong, but wasnt the block in the back 50 yards into a 75 yard touchdown or something???

Arkansas had the superior team where it counted. At the LOS. Arkansas had no leadership at head coach last season, therefore last season was the time to catch them. UL will improve their talent on the LOS. This just takes time, and will be the difference in the future.

Yes, just as Rodney Gillis or Treverence Patt ran down Collins, Arkansas' WR pushed him in the back knocking him out of the play. But clearly admitting that would go against your agenda. Belema agreed that they got away with that call.

I would guess a pretty close....but they would not have had 7points and 15 yards tacked on from the pt of infraction!!!!!

well, considering our D-line was being held about 3 of every 4 passing plays by the Louisiana O-line, maybe just maybe, getting away with a push in the side that was going to be a TD anyway, penalty or not, was justice....several times the announcers would remark how the Rajun Cajun O-line were just flatout holding jersies....but no big deal, you gotta do what you gotta do...the holding is why the ARK D-line went straight to the 'bull rush' in the second half, if you noticed the pocket would collapse almost immediately...that tactic was planned because the bull-rush negated the grabbing of the jersies by the Louisiana O-line...and it worked

EE stated "getting away with a push in the side that was going to be a TD anyway, penalty or not, was justice"

I ran that TD play in slow motion after the game and the Au coach was right, they got away with one. Both hands of the UA player was on Patt's name on the back of his jersey. The officials don't make decisions on justice they make decisions on rules. By the way, the infraction tool place on UA 30 yard line and the ball should have been placed on the 40. No guarantee of a TD. Probably no difference in outcome of the game.

That's what you get for listening to inbred Ozark homer announcers, Eddie.
