He proved to have a good accurate arm, and he took care of us. Our secondary was not our problem. You can't have them making the tackles of the Arkansas quick powerful backfield AND expect blanket coverage of SEC caliber receivers. The entire D was culpable. And I absolutely guarantee you that they won't "look" this way in 9 out of 11 of our contests. But, our D kept this acceptably close for our offense.

I saw that our offense is going to destroy 7 of our remaining 11. I hope our coaches prepare a little better versus specific opponents, but I can understand we prepared for the balance of the season... not just Arkansas. A big coaching mistake was not attacking the middle of Arkansas. We let our first couple of drives lull us into a false sense that Arkansas wouldn't adjust. They started bullwhipping us up the middle, and Broadway still thought he could step up and watch for someone coming free upfield. The place to exploit was the fast toss over the middle (Harry Peoples ish). Arkansas LBs are their achilles heal. TEs and underneath was our ticket.

I also think Terrance ran 50% of his attempts of his own accord. He should have given up the rock more in that game. We'll depend on his legs this year, like last. But, he needs to run only in open fields (like last year). We are getting better, overall, and we don't need the Blaine Gautier/Michael Desormeaux heroic QB rushing attack. Terrance coming up lame could flip this season in a hurry.

I saw many positives. Robinson is rusty... but he is going to beast everyone else on our docket. McQuire is the real deal. Watch out! Carter is pacing himself, and he will take several to the house this year. Alonzo is money... just wait. Maxwell will finally get his deserved work, and make everyone reconsider the intelligent use of a TE.

Our DL, not our secondary, was the matchup problem. We will not see anything near Arkansas's physical OL this year. In a nutshell, that game had way more to do with 11 on 11... and we... on balance... were overpowered. And that was the tallest mountain in our path this year.
Re: preparation by coaches, Hud mentioned repeatedly at QB Club that they were not sure exactly what we would see from Arkansas on both sides of the ball. Arkansas had a HC who was known for running at Wisconsin but his new OC was a fling it downfield guy. He thought they had a little better idea of what to expect from their D but there were still some unknowns. I think the uncertainty coupled with the "youth" of our secondary contributed o the lackluster defense. Still I was hoping for better from our defensive front.

O-line is a concern. Sunbelt D's will live in our backfield if we don't improve there.

C-Daddy...our O-line played fine until our Offense was forced to play catch-up. Once we started being predictable, our O-lines lack of experience was exposed. Review of the first half of the game will show this.

R-esquire, I think broadway was sacked a total of 9 times last year. He went down 3 or 4 times yesterday.

...I think your right, but didn't the sacks start midway through the third quarter? I could be wrong...but if my memory serves me right, the sacks started coming once we were in obvious passing situations, predictable.

Think TB was sacked 13 times. Online looked pretty good when we were running the ball. hate to second guess but I really didn't like the play calling. Seemed like we could have the te at any time or maybe it was tb's read

    Trust me i know
He will be a matchup nightmare for most teams

Yea, the sacks were later in the game and I wasn't able to watch any of the second half so I don't know if they got to him with the front four or if they brought the blitz.

I don't think it was realistic to think we would keep Arkansas from scoring in the 30s. My thought was our offense would have to out score them...and we ended up not being able to score even half of what most thought we would.

I don't understand the "playing catch-up" thing. 34 points isn't a lot for an SEC team to score. We just couldn't keep up.

I'm ok with better team won, and plenty for Hud to work with this week. And I'm realistic NDSU did us no favors as far as next week.

Silver lining...Fox got the name right!!!!
