Can we expect the same offense from Nebraska (mostly run) just like Kansas State, but more option plays and better execution? I know Nebraska's defense will most likely be the toughest we face, just wondering what their offense will bring.
They have a really good runner in Helu Jr. He had a nice game against VT. They went into the season with another guy (Castille I believe) but I don't know but I think he got kicked off the team. Zac Lee is supposed to be pretty good and went up against a really good VT defense and didn't have a very good day. I don't think they have the weapons that LSU has on the outside and I'm not sure how good their Oline is but their D will be stout. They gave up less than 300 yards to Virginia Tech and allowed less than 100 yards on the ground to a tradition rich run program.
Thanks for all the insight sounds like you have a team that could give us a game. Nebraska is not a one deminsional team at all though to answer some of your questions, yeah we have a work-horse in Helu but Zac Lee has a strong and better arm that Ganz did and he really shows it. Back in the game against ASU he hit Niles Paul(One reciever who is really starting to blow up) on a 70 yard fly route for a td but was called back due to holding. We have a group of recievers that are quick and have good tall and physical that should allow us to pick on your shorter corners and safetys. As for our O-line they are big and physical and like to hit you in the chin and keep it coming all game. VaTech witnessed that all game last weekend and their D was tired in the 4th. As for our D, our front 4 is much stronger faster and experienced than LSU. Suh the anchor is just an all around animal, he destroys his blocker and disrupts the backfeild. Solution by vatech was to try and double team him, terrible idea as jared crick his counterpart at DT took advantage and blew up the backfeild time and time again. Then you go out to our ends, Pierre Allen and Barry Turner are both studs who are quick and really like to hit. Barry Turner is back for a 5th year medical redshirt season as he broke his leg last year in the second game on a Suh interception. Look for these front four to disrupt and put your qb on his back atleast 3 or 4 times. Our LB's are young but explosive, you question our speed on D but ask Tyrod Taylor just how quick these guys are, he couldn't get around us and part is due to the speed at LB. Sean Fisher, Blake Lawerence, Will Compton and company have the ingredients to be the real deal and they are hard hitting no-nonsense players just like their D Coordinator and head coach, the pelini brothers. Phillip Dillard is a senior LB with lots of heart and a ton of leadership to bring to the table, he just worked his way back into the rotation after ____ing off the coaches in spring ball by showing up 15lbs over weight. Since then he dropped his 40 time to a 4.5 flat and really has shown passion. Look for him to have a big game. DB's and Safetys except for that last bone head mental break down have been playing excellent. Amukamara is probably our stud who is running a 4.36 40 and can really fly to the ball. He is always in the right place at the right time and he loves to take a rb on in open feild. The rest of the dbs are kind of on a rotation and you never know who will step out on the feild. This would be the spot to expose us, catch us on a mental break. Don't expect one as Pelini and Co. will not be letting them forget their mistake and you better beileve they are going to come out flying to ball and ready to make some big plays. Its still a little early for me to predict the score because i read into everything before making my predictions but im thinking this is going to be a statement game for nebraska as they still have not been handed their blackshirts on defense which is a pride and prestigous thing.
Also to kind of give you all a bigger picture of the nebraska's versitility, against ASU helu had 156 rushing yards in 18 carries and 2 touchdowns and Lee threw for over 300 yards and 0 interceptions with 4 tds i believe. The huge stat was everyone was getting touches he completed passes to 14 different players. We have depth at TE as well. 3 studs that love to get up feild and make physical catches.
