Sure, It's about an hour drive taking I 80 E all the way. The traffic of course on saturday is going to be a little busier but then again, you guys are used to southern traffic and I don't want to get you to worried about what we call traffic up around here. You should be able to make it in an hour without a problem. If you leave early and are wanting to see everything as well you should be even better off but if your coming just for the game and leave a few hours before you might experience what we call traffic. Again nothing to bad and you should be able to handle it for the most part. When you get into Lincoln, well thats a different story, there are people everywhere on game day.
Nebraska doesn't have the same traffic concerns as states with a larger population but game day can be crazy. Anyone leaving Omaha would be smart to depart by 2pm. I personally prefer getting there early and enjoying the sites and sounds of game day.
Don't believe for one second that the fans or players feel the same way as the media members in the videos that are linked. The one goof ball said you guys were playing KSU in Manhattan.
I hope that all UL fans have a great time in Lincoln and hope for an injury free game with the Huskers coming out on top.
other things you can do is Joselyn art Gallery up in omaha, it's i believe the 3rd best in the nation, or sheldon down in lincoln. Also Morril Hall is lots of fun on the campus in lincoln. unfortantly i will not make the game, i have to be in omaha watching the mavs game to write a paper on it.
Hey, Cajun fans...
I saw a few going to the game and asking about what to do in Lincoln. I'm guessing most are already on their way, but expect a warm welcome for both you and your team. I'm a UN-L grad and long-time Husker fan stuck in western PA, so I won't be able to make the game... but, if you are looking for some good eats and pre-game fun, hit Misty's for some awesome prime rib, and Sidetracks bar is a must the night before the game.
Have a great time and good luck to your team!
Also, come say, "Hi" to us all on huskerfanclub.com. We love to have opponents' fans come give their take on things... and expect as warm of welcome there as you would (or will) get in Lincoln.
Thanks for all the information NU fans. Just about to leave hotel. Looking forward to a great experience. Geaux Cajuns!!!!!
I read some of the analysis of the teams, and I'd have to say the NU comments were pretty spot on. I do think our defensive front is probably our biggest strength. However, I noticed one poster commenting about our lack of speed at the de positions. Now, I'm not going to claim our speed there is better than LSU's, but if one is basing their judgment on watching the VT game alone, you must consider NU's game plan was to contain Tyrod Taylor -- not let him get outside the box when he scrambles and burn us with the run. Therefore, our ends weren't pinning their ears back. I expect they'll be a bit more aggressive today. And, it is a great challenge/test for them going against a fine Cajun OL that has yet to yield a sack.
Can't wait for kickoff!
20+ of us ate at Misty's last night. Darn good prime rib! The poor waitress had such a blank look on her face when someone asked for macque choux!
Wow...next to us Nebraska fans are the best! Everyone is sooooo nice. We haven't heard anything negative at all. Some teams we play (won't mention lswho) could stand to take a lesson from the fans here.
