The PAC is pushing this partial share today, full share later to Texas State right now. They would offer the same to any other schools they invite. The naysayers would say that's not enough to cover travel costs. I say it would be an investment in our future.
We always say that our goal is to be in the highest G6 league possible. Well, the PAC is going to be that for all schools west of the Mississippi.

What if a future SBC deal closes the gap (currently approaching $2m per school), maybe next is $5m/school? Do we want to leave the conference we built, and join a conference of convenience and zero ties?
PAC offers us better MBB. SBC offers better everything else. Football is mattering less and less in the west.
I say stay in SBC and hope for a cream of the crop SBC + AAC realignment.
If we have to come back east after some further realignment or conference shuttering, we will face the same shunning LaTech is receiving now.
$5 mil would be worth a stay but the $2 mil was negotiated after Marshall and USM joined so Im not holding my breath.

Its possible Oregon St/WSU will take a larger $$ share than their new PAC12 brethren. Then like the ACC deal, schools with successful football/basketball (more TV games) might have opportunity to bolster their media share $$ year to year. If a perennial bottom feeder, then you earn less. Nothing announced yet, but a structure like that wouldn't be a surprise. Its ashamed they are halfway across the country because its being built to surpass the AAC; meaning will eventually exceed AAC legacy members' money, too.
latech is being shunned because their A-Holes.
So, the hypothetical choice is accepting a PAC invite over hoping for a best of AAC/SBC invite, and that's only if this future possible AAC/SBC could garner a similar media deal as the PAC.
The obvious choice here is accept the PAC invite. A bird in the hand beats 2 in the bush.
The difference here is that a hypothetical PAC invite would be because they need a travel partner for TSU and we're the only real option at the moment. The PAC would NEED us.
Honestly, an AAC/SBC best of league would not need us at all, and that's the hard truth some people here need to realize.
