Historical point, McNeese was the lone dissenting vote. McNeese, thru the legislature via Cliff Newman, and Kevin Reilly for LSU (Lamar Advertising) led the resistance.

Those two universities are joined at the hip fighting the name. Look no further than the SID history of both. Doesn’t take a Mensa card to figure out who thru the years cried to the SEC Network, ESPN and others.

Even in the last year a prominent HS LC area coach pointed out the pettiness on the McLeast board. Post got tossed, but mid was called out for being petty.

It's funny seeing the narrative turn on The A&M college. Other fanbases openly laugh at their pettiness in all of this. I don't think there is a single fanbase in America other than the one in BR that openly complains or throws fits on how another school brands itself. It's comical and also sad.

When Lyn Rollins calls us Louisiana on the SEC Network, in Baton Rouge, for 3 hours... We've won. It's over.

This is on the heels of basketball being Louisiana on a national bracket and taking Tennessee to the brink in front of 3.1 million viewers.

A couple years removed from Napier taking Louisiana to the Top 25 two consecutive years in national polls.

The more Baton Rouge bihtches about the name, the more attention it gets and the more it sticks. Keep in mind, nationally, other fanbases despise TSAB. They'll call us Louisiana just to spite them. Just keep doing what we're doing.

This right here. We are Lousiana. Now we need to take the next step and WIN on the national stage consistently.

Wish we would have gone further in MBB, but there were 20+ million brackets just with the mothership where eyes at least once saw “Louisiana”. Throw in other media, that’s a lot of free advertising. And the only crying over the name came from instate resistance.

I’d love to know who had the “come to Jesus” meeting regarding Louisiana with LLLLLynn Rollllins. His resume’ shows his Tiger roots, so it wasn’t BR.

He did move to Auburn, AL a few years ago, so maybe once he untethered from TSATB he got free of the name game.

………Jay, just wonder if after Lafayetteing us if somebody would refer to lsu as just state….I think this would cause the biggest uprising ever in the whole deal….then if we only referred to them like on the scoreboard as “State”…….So Jay, I know you won’t and guess it would only cause a worsening situation for us…..but but but ….just think of the stuff you could stir!
