I think you're right, Mike. And for that very reason, I block our coaching staff's calls to my phone during games. I am solidly of the opinion that if they request my advice, much less take it, they are not qualified to coach. Half the time at games I'm either getting a buzz, checking out the ladies, heading to or from the bathroom and concessions. And when I'm not at the game, I've probably been doing something at my job that has nothing to do with college football, while our coaches were. I decided mid way through last season that I'm less qualified to coach our football team than our coaches are. Besides, I was under the influence of beer (several) during most of my team observations.

Am I on to something, Mike? Is my casual fan observation really placing me behind career coaches in my knowledge of who should play and how?

In the minds of some, you would do a better job of figuring out who should play vs some coaches. Note I understand the purpose of a message board is so casual fans can make observations and offer opinions. I do get the sense however that some really believe they know more than coaches.

Well, I suspect they want to play game management, Levi probably knows the offensive calls more than most. I'm not so much anti-Levi, as I am wanting to get some of the others experience so that we can have a developed passing QB to give our offense the extra power it needs to beat good teams.

I don’t know for a fact that other QB’s would have been sacked often. I have talked to people however who have been to practice and that is their belief. Also, the backup is coming off a knee injury and the other two are pure freshman. Hawkins is so far behind he did not make the trip.

Absolutely, and I stand by that statement. This is based on the fact that MSU played poorly, we couldn't throw down field, where as there are many G5 teams that could have capitalized on that poor play and made them pay.

Well, sure that's what they believe are they wouldn't be doing it.

Not necessarily the right thing though. Just my opinion, of course. We have had many coaches do the wrong thing, so who's to say they aren't? I don't want to get wrapped so much around the axle on what could be if, I would like to be able to see it myself. It bothers a lot of people for some reason if you don't tote the line of the coaches. I like many aspects of what they are doing, but this is the most important, and I'm not really liking what's going on with that position, and I'm going to keep saying it, sorry if it bothers some.
