Yes, it is too far up the hill and too small to be efffective.
...plus the UL hedges are too distractive.![]()
So... what you're implying is that these Aggie fellas are vulnerable to having this extremely large HD screen "ported" from their possession by means of a large truck... and that someone willing to "port" it over to our stadium could put a red dot on the side of said tractor and no Aggie would be the wiser? Hummmm.
If someone knew how to sell to the constituency, there isn't a school in the country that would have a finer set of appliances gracing the endzones. Indeed, a much larger screen will not change the outcome of the game.... but, a new funding machine will take care of it all.
However.... love the new turf... those endzone UL hedges are either going to have to be manicured to the nanometer, or they have to go. The precise lines of the new artificial field makes the hedges look unkept. (Z, that also means you need to recrop your mullet or you too will be outed along with the hedges... hehe)
I don't know where you got that picture, but the video screen I saw at Kyle Field last year (I went with 3 buds to see A&M play Kansas) looks to be at LEAST twice the size of the screen in your picture and would NOT fit in the back of a flat-bed truck like that one does.
Agreed. I have been to Kyle field twice. To see them play Ul in 06 and last season when they played baylor. I asked around and they said it was around 10 million dollars and they didnt mention that portability of it. Not saying your wrong, they may have just left that part out. But they have one awesome scoreboard plus the screen. Of course they got it due to the one that UT bought.
What is the purpose of the screen? To give relative information from sponsors and game time information. We need a winning football team and be happy with them before going after any of the amenites the BCS schools are able to afford. IMO

Anyone know if they finished applying the silica sand to the turf? What is left to be done on the installation?
I saw about a dozen large bags of sand and the tractor used to spread it in the parking lot next to the athletic offices today. Don't know if that was extra or yet to be spread. With final inspection tomorrow (Sunday) and the start of the Football camp Sunday, I would expect that it would either be a punch list item or they will finish it on Sunday.
