Fielding the NEW Swamp

_ Just got back from " Ajun field". Took a late lunch to be able to go out and look at the field for the first time. Looks good... all the carpet is down. Just a small section in the south endzone left to go... then the application of the mid-field and endzone logos. Can't wait to see it completed.

Once request, though, for Scott Farmer to consider. PLEASE FORCE SOMEONE TO HAVE PRIDE IN THE FACILITY AND GET THE GRASS CUT EVEN THOUGH IT IS THE OFF SEASON! My guess is that the OTHER "Swamp"... you know, the one in Florida... doesn't have weeds all over the place. I bet they consider it "sacred ground" and make a point to keep it looking nice REGARDLESS of what time of year it is!

PS Glad the SEC didn't get a baseball title last night! _

Looking at the webcam tonight, it looks like they've got the hash marks in. By my tally, that leaves the logo and endzone artwork, rubber in-fill, and smoothing out the field and connecting any loose seams. If the rain holds out, it should come together real soon.

The inserts are not glued to the padding they are glued to the backing which is on top of the padding, the green fibers are shaved down to the backing and the new fibers which already has backing on it is glued down. The product is much like the carpet in a home. So if the turf ever needs to be restreched every thing will move as one piece. _

I'm surprised the fuzzy white that I thought was from paint didn't wash away with the downpour.

Nope... they haven't. As of now, our field is still " ajun Field" &^%$#$**&^#$%$^

I agree it doesn't look good. However, I believe Scott Farmer stated that the plan was to pressure wash the stadium once the turf installation is complete. There was a reason for doing the washing after the turf but I don't recall what it was. In any case, I believe the lettering is to be repaired after the pressure washing since the pressure washing may remove more of the letters. So as bad as it looks right now the admin says there is a reason for it. Now if they don't follow through I will be right there with you guys howling in protest.
