How often Google updates depends on where you are. I know there have been some recent updates in some parts of Houston. All areas affected by Rita and Katrina have been updated and you can change overlays to switch from pre and post storm images. New Orleans has been updated with high resolution images since Katrina. You can get down to an eye level of about 300 feet beefore it starts to get grainy. You can see people walking (maybe even a drug deal or two if you know where to look). While this may be good, it does show some highly detailed images of water treatment plants and chemical plants that I don't think needs to be out there in the public. (If you know what to look for you can see chlorine handling facilities at the water plants).
I hope that the Lafayette area gets updated soon as i think all of the area is pre Katrina images and is of relatively low resolution.
here is the latest google image from jan 5, 04 showing cajun field.
Hey Z--Is your band playing for the Erath 4th of July Fest???? sounds like our area!!!!

A picture from MS Virtual Earth. You can get the full picture by clicking on F11, hide the mini map on the right and the view control on the left. Use the arrow keys to pan the picture right, left, up and down...........
Frenchie:
Good stuff, I liked the colors over the student section better when they were like that. Also, we need to build a walkway on the north side connecting the home and away seating, like the one on the south side and it would look nice to build the lower level seating hips around to match the ones on the visitor/general admission seating side. That way it would allow for more seating and still keep a portion of the grass. Eventually we could add the suite boxes to cover the student side. Sure would look nice....
