Have you ever suggested that to anyone? To be honest, I've never even thought of that idea, but i think it's a great idea. Our stadium has really gone down hill fast over the past few years with all the black, whether it be from the paint or the mold.

Scott Farmer has told me before that the bushes/hedges around the outside is no longer an option because it would take up too much room. I know they had it before, but apparently there are a lot more players, staff, coaches, and equipment on the sidelines these days.

This brick idea would be great, and would really class up the joint.

    Drainage rocks being poured.

Somehow I do not think the hedges will be coming in Athens. Seems to me both stadiums have similar width.

Drainage rocks? Does this have anything to do with the "apron" they are to pour for water drainage??

They are installing a French drain. It's used to remove ground water. They dig a trench and line it with geotextile. A perforated pipe is placed in the geotextile and 1/4" to 3/4" rocks are placed around the stone. A layer of geotextile is placed over the stone to keep the dirt out so it does not clog the drain.

Thanks. I understand the French drain concept; but I thought I also read that a concrete pad would be poured around the field which would also help rid the field/stadium of water. Just wasn't sure if the two were tied. Cheers.

Looks like they made good progress on Saturday (5/31). as they finished the French Drain all the way to the sump for the pumps. We may not be able to see too much next week because I THINK the next step is to start placing geotextile over the entire field and cover it with stone. They will start at the north end zone (out of the camera filed of view) and work to the tunnel. They cover the geotextile as soon as its rolled out to protect it from the sun and to keep it from blowing in the wind. So it happens at the same time. If you see lots dump trucks coming in and out and no progress on the camera, that's whats happening.

I would think they would want to do that as quick as possible to cover the exposed dirt on the field. If they get a rain now they are screwed because sediment from the bare dirt will be washed into the French Drain and foul it. If it was me I would get about five or six of those small dump trucks and start hauling stone like mad to cover all that bare dirt on that field ASAP.

Oh Yeah, They did not have to remove any part of the tunnel. the small dump trucks can make the turn OK.

I may have missed this since I haven't followed this entire thread, but what is the "geotextile" you mention made of??
