Why? What does it accomplish?
I’ll tell you what. It allows a lame duck coach to add to his “accomplishments”, it gives our eunuch administration excuse not to make a move that will improve the program immensely, and it gives the jack leg media a narrative to help push the idea that the state of football in Lafayette is just fine.
At this point, 6-6 with a bowl birth HURTS UL.
After reading a number of these posts, I think what most are trying to say (and I agree), is that the NOLA Bowl is not necessarily below us, but going there (or any other Bowl) with a record less than 8-4 is certainly not acceptable year-after-year..
Of course you don’t, you’re an LSU fan. Outside of Cajunfield, we have facilities on par with the AAC. You’d have to be a fool not to see that.
This conference is chicken ____, and anyone with eyes can see that. The complaints are 1000000% warranted. A coach that is paid AAC level money should be able to deliver an outright conference titile once in 7 ____ing years.
How is your cult going? If your followers believe "6-6 with a bowl birth HURTS UL" you have one.
What you said before that is true but should be avoided. Turning down bowl bids has been proven to be the wrong method towards improving a program.
Notre Dame, LSU, UCLA.
We fired Bustle for consistent 6-6 records and everyone was on board with that. But 3-9, 6-7 and what looks like another 6-6 season is acceptable because of Bowls.
