    No.

There is a bid package that must be submitted to the NCAA well in advance. That package has an extensive list of requirements regarding facilities. They don't look further than that. Attendance isn't an issue either. I can't recall a single instance since at least the early 2000's where money was taken into consideration either.

The 2 top 10 reveals they have released show they are not using the rpi like the be all and end all of their decisions. Minnesota has not been in the top 10 of the rpi, but the committee has them at #8 in the first release and #7 in this past one. Baylor has been in the top 10 of the rpi for several weeks but they were not even mentioned as under consideration for the top 10 in this last release (Oklahoma and Utah were). It's my feeling that the committee will still lean more in favor of the power teams, especially the SEC and PAC 12 teams, than James Madison, Brigham Young or us.
Maybe UL can host over LSU. In the 3 polls posted on the Ultimate College Softball site (that you posted):

USA Today / NFCA Coaches Poll:

    Louisiana - 14
    LSU - 21

ESPN / USA Softball Collegiate Poll:

    Louisiana - 15
    LSU - 21

    College Sports Madness Poll

    Louisiana - 15
    LSU - 22

Hosting or not, I'm sensing that the softball team may end up facing the same situation as baseball a la 2000. Gainesville here we come?!?

Bring 'em on. Last time we faced them it didn't end too well for them.

You're forgetting the trip to Gainesville last season where they won 5-1, 14-1 (5) and 3-0. And their pitching staff is better this year than last year.

Dang, you're right. Forgot about that weekend. My media guide wasn't up to date.

I have no idea where you got that.

I was responding to your statement concerning LSU hosting ...and that the committee would create too much work for themselves by having to ship, LSU, Louisiana, and McNeese State out of the region (thus a reason why LSU will host). I simply stated that this thinking does not impact the committee's selection of the national seeds. The national seeds are awarded on merit only.

Meanwhile, I mentioned that there are paths to where the Cajuns could catch LSU in the RPI. If they do, this would lessen the prospects that LSU would host. Either the Cajuns or some other team could get the nod over LSU. In no way does that statement say that national seed selection is solely about the RPI.

Well ... the reason these discussions are missing the above is because what you are saying is not true. The monetary bid is irrelevant. All that is required is that the minimum bid requirements are met.
