Really enjoyed the tournament. It definitely helps when the USA is in it. At the start I thought the US starting pitchers may not have been enough to get them over the hump against the top teams, but that ended up being one of the strongest areas for them. Stroman was amazing last night on the biggest stage.

Luc had a very solid tournament. Hit safely in all but his first game vs the DR. He and Posey were about even all tournament in terms of hitting, so the rotation worked out well. Glad it fell to Luc to catch the championship

It’s not entirely clear what happened, but one possibility could be that Lucroy is waiting for a new Yadier Molina deal with the Cardinals, a contract that would help set his value. Molina could receive $17MM to $18MM a season, Rosenthal writes, and Lucroy would probably receive only a bit less.
