The decision has been made.

Alford was eliminated and was not one of the 2 finalists. Nunez and Maggard were the finalists.

One of the two is one of Alden's guys. And Alden had a large part in the search. I'm sure you all can do the math.

Reading bios, Alford was the most qualified, and I'm disappointed he's not the guy. But I trust in Alden after reading his audit of the program, and since Alford isn't in the mix anymore, I'm confident that we've made a good choice between the two finalists.

There is a reason it's not Alford, and I'm comfortable with that. He may be an asset to us in a different capacity anyway.

This has been the most broad, vetted, scrutinized, open, objective search for an athletic director in UL history. I'm not saying that guarantees success.. But I am saying that we got what we asked for...

Technically yes...but magnitude wise...very little.

That was a question I had, but ultimately, if the committee (namely Robe) came to the conclusion that he was the guy without anyone pressuring him, I'm on board. This wasn't a case of stacking the deck so that there was only one real choice. All 3 guys that we've heard about are more than qualified for this job.

Agreed. If he knows the issues and thinks his guy is capable of moving us forward, I trust him.

I'm tickled pink it's not a current employee...can anyone name the last AD that wasn't already a University employee? (not being sassy, generally curious)
