If we had Jake Delhomme hitting um deep, short, and in the middle McGuire would be running for over a hundred almost as a matter of fact every week. Instead we have TB who is an average passer and very good runner who has had outstanding receivers his whole career and now does not.
I think we all recall how we played with him out for a couple of games with better receivers.
Broadway was getting a lot more time to throw last night than any game this season and yet..........
TB won the game. Ugly or not we won it on his shoulders.
That's because you have a sac. To suggest our receivers wouldn't play all out because they weren't getting the football thrown their way is to suggest they are selfish.
Might be one of the dumbest comments ever on this board.
If a WR doesn't go all out to block, he can't play for me.
Or Hud.
He didn't say it, so if you gonna call me dumb, grab your sac and call me dumb. As usual most like to assume what they want. Our receivers run block a lot and are good at. we don't run the kind of offense where the 3rd and 4th option keep running because 99% of the time the ball is out. So just because someone doesn't see them constantly being open under this play calling doesn't mean they don't have the ability to get open. The dumbest comment ever on the board is that we don't have 1 WR that possesses the ability to get open. We somehow recruit an entire D1 WR corps that doesn't contain talented WR. If the offense changed, you would see more WR's open. Their jobs and responsibilities are different in this offense.
I think you messed up this post. Receivers aren't run blocking on passing plays... so there's no connection. Our guys are trying to get open on pass plays and they want the ball thrown to them. There are times that WRs get frustrated that they aren't thrown to... especially when they get open and the QB doesn't see them. But, I don't think you're accusing our receivers of not working very hard for our team. And without a doubt, WRs are more fired up when they know they've got a good passer throwing to them. It's stupid to think otherwise.
I'll say this... if your post insinuates that you're stupid... then all the posts that ever claimed that our team played "more passionate" are also stupid. It implies that they did not play passionately in past contests. You cannot say that our team played "their hearts out"... and football crap talk like that... and not imply that they didn't play their hearts out in a prior contest when you made no mention of it. So therefore, those that act like "our guys gave 110% tonight", and leave that unsaid in one of our lousy showings... are implying that some or most of our players take games off. These same people will get in your face about your comment regarding WRs. They are just as wrong as you were in your dicked up post. When they apologize... you be sure to do the same.
That's what I'm saying, I was never accusing of them of not playing hard but human nature will eventually creep in. It's a different mind sight when you actually believe you will get the ball and when you believe you won't. Run blocking is tiring was more what I was getting at. A WR that never gets the ball and just always run blocks, creeps in more human nature.
