Seriously....at some point you have to make your own life. It's not like you are wanting to go off and be a male stripper, or a Seahawk fan or something. Knocking down 6 figures, while doing something you like and contributing to the world in a very necessary way is a great life. Mom will get over it. Plus the food here is awesome.

I just don't want her to suicide lol.... Since I was a young one, she has wanted me to be a doctor but it's just not for me. I'm going to apply to UL soon.

Problem is she wants me to go back to study in the UAE where at that med school we could only leave the campus once a month + had classes even on Saturday + no electronics. I sure as hell do not want to go back to that dictatorship.

She is worried about the arab/middle eastern community's opinion and how she will be embarrassed by me quitting to study in the US.

UL has a history of partnering with Middle Eastern Universities. Qatar University comes to mind.

Perhaps after you graduate and are rich and famous you can help get something going between a UAE school and UL.
