And the Louisiana was dropped after the Tabby rant. Clearly T Joe has backed off due to the negative publicity, or he was threatened by powers that be.
It is not a coincidence that that Cajuns started appearing after the rant.
All...just yanking ya chains folks..ya'll are wayyyy to serious about a name for me. but to each his/her own i guess..good luck with the battle
Your name is who you are. It's your brand. I just bought a house. Going through the title process was a pain in the ___ because some dumbass with the same name had 8 or so paternity suits against him. I had to prove I wasn't this jag off. Once I established that I was not the dead beat everything was fine and the sale went through. Just like I had to disassociate myself with mister reprobate...we must do the same with ULM...and fast. If you cannot see the importance of it...if you cannot understand how long we have waited...if you cannot grasp how hard we got shafted in 1984...maybe this university and it's athletic program isn't for you.
Next year will mark the 30th anniversary of our name change. Today we are no closer to being known as Louisiana than we were back in 1984. I wish we had been successful in getting ESPN, USA Today, AP, or even Louisiana based newspapers to refer to us as Louisiana, but we have not. They've all demonstrated for the past 30 years that they simply will NOT refer to us as UL or Louisiana, even in athletics. This battle can not be won. This name issue is having a negative effect on our university's progress. LSU and their many fans will never accept our name as UL, nor will any of our fellow UL System schools. For this reason, most of the state's legislators DO NOT SUPPORT our cause. As a state funded university, this is not a good situation. We have a nationally known brand in "Ragin Cajuns". We should put our efforts into promoting it instead of beating the same old dead horse that we've beaten for 30 years……...Or not.
