I don't know why the hell bring up La Tech. I personally don't give a rat's backside about Tech. Only good thing about Ruston, it is a good place to take a dump between Jackson, MS and Texas when on I-20. Don't give them cred of any type on a UL site.

Bottom line, UL basketball and the SBC just sucks. No, not a flamer, find my post under Don Allen to see how much I use to care if you have any doubts. We have not had a coach worth a flip since Bobby P. We had Marty the clown, Jessie and the thugs, Robert's lost adventure and I don't know what the heck Marlin is doing, other the regurgitating the same thing every year, "Well, we are young." Positive consistency is what has been lacking with the coaches we have had. One good year does not make a good coach. Pull it off a few years in a row. I don't see what the challenge is in the SBC, once a strong mid major that sometimes received multiple NCAA bids, now a play in game to the NCAA tournament joke.

Somebody wake me up when UL basketball is relative again.

Clearly the reason for the post was to alert some with their heads in the sand how well we could be, should be doing instead of what is actually happening. Nobody gives a rats a $$ about LTU, it is just a way to contrast how much we suck and have zero relevance compared to a school with similar circumstances.

Oh man, my dream scenario would be for them to finish the season by losing in their conference title game, not making the cut for the NCAA tournament, and then turning down the NIT because it was beneath them. It seems like something their athletic department would do too.

While a bad coach can win with talent, there are two things you never see from a bad coach.

1) Turn a season around at the mid-way point.
2) Win in their sophomore year.

There are a 1000 things that can lead to a bad season but those are two things you never see from a bad coach. You have a good head coach in Mike White.

How i'm trolling this thread? Maybe the UL and LSU thread but thats about it. Every point i made in my original post is valid. Football rankings and record, point Tech. Basketball rankings and record, Tech again. These are the two money sports that put your school on the map.La Tech is doing work _____. Maybe UL should take a few notes from Tech b/c they are doing more with less, in a ____ hole town and very little fan support.

Obviously, Louisiana Tech's basketball program has never recovered from many, many years of all of that extensive, program killing, WAC travel.

Tech took a chance on the WAC and it payed dividends in the end. They were very aggressive and proactive in bettering themselves and selling their university. If I remember correctly we both agreed with the Tech move and wanted UL to follow them into the WAC. This went against popular opinion. Sometimes you got take chances in life. We seem content to just keep the status quo.
