    UL Basketball Mens Basketball Recruits

Was looking on scout.com and noticed a few new names. Does anyone have any info, stats, news on these guys?

    Travis Bureau (St. Amant HS)
    -
Apparently he just signed, not sure what his abilities are.

    Terrance Henry (Carroll HS)
    -
Looks like a great all around player.

    Brandon Dison (Archbishop Hannan HS)
    -
Been on roster for one year, looks like a solid player.

With Chris coming in, does anyone know if he will redshirt his first year?

Also, where do we stand right now with scholarships available? We need a strong center.

1st team all state, recruited also by USC and LSU - I am surprised no one mentioned this signing earlier:

His coached told me he has recently retaken his ACT, but does not have his score as of yet. His GPA is fine, just needs his score. USC and LSU wanted him to enroll in school this year and they would offer a scholarship next year. LSU had a similar plan with Thomas, while the Cajuns offered him a full scholarship. There were no scholarships available this year at either program.More then likely, he will be a partial and not count against the scholarships this year.

I had seen the signing last week, but neither the DA, nor the MA had anything much on it, basically both just printed a press release.

I am impressed that we are getting a pretty good guard, even if it means that we will definitely be guard heavy over the next few years. But this kid is 6'6", so i doubt that with the other guards we have, that he will be running the point too much, but maybe more as a small forward/3rd guard. It will be hard to keep up with other teams that have big inside games, especially if our tallest player is only 6'9", but we can certainly have a lot of success if we keep getting these very athletic, smaller, quicker guys that can run the floor really well, and shoot pretty good. the other teams can use their big guys for the easy points in the paint (not that i am giving up on any of our forwards right now, but just speaking hypothetically), and we'll be back down the floor laying it up, ally-ooping, or kicking it out for a three, before the big doofus' feet hit the floor.

There is more than one way to skin a cat, and there are more ways to win basketball than having big men. Having big men reduces the need for other players, but if we have a full regalia of quick fast players who can play defense, shoot, and, can rebound we can beat teams with quality big men. I remember an UALR team that gave us fits. And this kid can shoot and rebound.

New info indicates Bureau is fully qualified and will be on TOPS here (not a basketball scholarship). As far as the other guys asked about, Brandon Dison sat out this year in order to get eligible. As finals have not occurred yet for the spring semester, we don't know the status of that. Supposedly, he and the other three guys sitting out did well in fall. I don't think Chris Gradigno will redshirt as he is reported to be the highest profile recruit to sign here since Kevin Brooks.

Ok, just saw this guy... not sure how I missed him the first time, but if we land him I don't know what I would do. He really looks like a great kid. Check it out:

    Terrance Henry (Carroll HS)

Can you imagine he AND Gradnigo in two years?

Mike, his coach stated that he has not recieved his test score back from a recent ACT test, not that he is not eligible. He just didn't know what his recent score on his ACT was at this point. BTW, he can't sign a letter intent for a full scholarship and recieve tops. Something is not correct about that information.
