My buddy and I have a home tailgate tradition that we drink a big bottle of Chimay to start the tailgate. I bootleg a bunch of beer into Oklahoma every year (I live in Missouri) because Oklahoma beer laws are stupid. Only Utah's beer laws are worse. Both are 3.2 beer states.
If I were asked what beer I'd like to have right now, it would be a New Belgium Brewery - Trippel. I'm not sure why, but it has become my current favorite. But that changes over time.

Most stuff by New Belgium is great. The funny thing is that Fat Tire got so popular that most people think that is the name of the brewery. My favorite New Belgium brew is definitely their winter ale, 2 Below. As another testament to LA sucking in regards to beer distribution, you can get NB here either.
I have a keg of Brooklyn Lager in my kegerator right now, but my favorite beer at the time changes with the seasons. Dogfish Head and Stone are by far my favorite breweries.
All UL taigaters claim their tailgating site to be the best. Our tailgating group, Krewe de Chew, lays claim to that boast. Check us out at http://www.krewedechew.net/. As time progresses, to each home game, you can view what is being offered in the way of food and fun. Game menus are posted, along with photos of past home tailgating sessions, and lots of other info!
If you have anyone you know at K State that came down last year, give them a shout to ascertain how they were treated in a "royal fashion". I can assure you that you will receive the same treatment, because we treat all visitors with the same goodwill we expect when we travel.
We will be anticipating a visit from you all. Vien nous voirs (come visit), and we'll pass a good time!!!!![]()
A couple years ago for the Colorado game the wife and I went early and went up to Ft. Collins and went through the New Belgium Brewery tour. Was really one of the better brewery tours I've ever been on. I'd rate it just below Guinness and the Heineken Experience.
The story on how Fat Tire got its name is great. The founder of NB had graduated from Colorado State with an Engineering degree and was about to go to work for one of the local companies. He asked for and received a month or so before he had to start so he could fulfill a dream which was to ride his bike from brewery to brewery in Belgium. This was the early 90s and he brewed in college as a way to make quality beer drinking cheaper.
This was when the mountain bike was a new idea (remember it was invented in the Rockies) so he had his bike shipped over and he would ride it from place to place. He always wanted to talk to the brew masters and they would see his bike and always ask about the "bike with the fat tires." It allowed him to get more information and hints than he would have otherwise.
Fat Tire is a great beer, but I can't handle just drinking it day after day. I also don't like coffee or chocolate so most of the winter ales, porters, and stouts don't taste good to me. I still love me some Guinness on a cold day though.
When it gets closer to time if you need me to bootleg you something in from Missouri, let me know.

I'll wait until a couple weeks before the game and we can do information exchange then. I really can't wait for this game. I just hope we are undefeated coming in. That would mean we beat Tulsa (who I hate and hate playing against), got revenge from Troy for a few years ago, beat a horrible Washington State team, and beat Texas A&M. But this is our first road game of the year.
Nothing like travel to watch football to really forge memories.
