They would search to play a mid major that enhances SOS in one of those early season Multi Team Event (MTE) early season tournaments vs a true road game. After 2 decades of tremendous success, Gonzaga still has trouble getting "name" teams to visit them. Not saying it is impossible or that we should not attempt to do this but pointing out the challenge. I think a better way to go about this is to search for a 2 for 1 deal. I think we could swing this in basketball if our home attendance improves significantly. 20 years ago we played Tennessee and only drew 3500. Now, the team we fielded that year was poor and the fans knew it. If our fans knew we had a chance to defeat that name school, they may show up in good numbers. That may be a way to get to the 12000 goal Coach Q talks about.

A number never achieved by the Cajuns. That would definitely be impressive.

I don't see 12K going to a basketball ģame this season. It would be an awesome atmosphere if it happened.

    Remember Fear the Beard.

Don't underestimate the power of a well timed winning streak and enthusiasm from the top.

UT Austin just built the Moody Center. 15K capacity for concerts. Video panels drop from the ceiling to cover the upper seating area to reduce capacity to 10K for sporting events.

UL basketball should consider closing the upper levels of the Cajundome until we sellout the lower levels.

Averaging 6K-8K this season would be a great start to the 12K goal. It allows us to fix the fan experience before doubling the volume of people.

    Moody Center (10 min mark)

Upper level of Dome for Cajuns basketball has been closed for several years.

Wow, that's first class! The city really half-azzed it by not putting mid-level suites in the Cajundome renovation

Yes... and I am hoping we somehow can average 4,000. Looking for 12,000 or even 8,000... after averaging 350 last year... is not realistic.

Last time we experienced above 4,000 avg. attendance range was the 2017-18 season. It can happen again. The SBC average is about 3,000 per game.

This is spot on. I’m loving to see the renewed interest and Coach White’s enthusiasm to fill up the space we have. It’s marketing. People still need to be aware enough to understand we aren’t going to go from our low point back to the glory days over night. Frankly, we will never return to that level of interest. There’s still a respectable middle ground between where we are and the Blackham days though. Truthfully, the CD has never been an appropriate venue for mid major collegiate basketball nor will it ever be. In actuality, we should be playing in a venue very similar to the Legacy Center in Lake Charles, with MAYBE a thousand or so more seats. I’d love to see this university with at least one venue it has a chance to consistently sell out. As that will most likely never happen, people are going to need to come around to the idea that averaging 4K-5K would be a significant accomplishment (regardless of how many seats remain empty).
