Danny Farquhar has been very successful coaching pro ball, currently on the Mariners big league coaching staff. Gunner could do something similar.

I hope this is the reason.

Of course not, I was under the impression that once you signed a LOI, you were bound for that upcoming year (could leave and go to JUCO or NAIA or something). Apparently that’s not the case.

But to see a guy who was an All-American for this university not only be willing to leave, but even think about heading to USM or any other G5 program is head scratching in the worst way. I’m getting a stronger and stronger feeling that Deggs is just a pain to work with, play for, etc. There’s a difference between being hard on your players and staff and being hard to work with.

I have NO clue what’s actually going on inside. I’m just a fan. But from where I’m sitting right now it just looks like a mess.
    I share your sentiments

I was thinking the same. Im not a big baseball guy, so I don't know nearly as much as you guys, but isn't it hard to determine whether Gunner was doing a good job or not if we don't know if Deggs had him handcuffed from doing his job like he wanted? If Deggs is a micro manager, not letting Gunner call pitches, etc...it may not be as simple as looking at just numbers and determining he's not a good pitching coach.
