But if Gunner is calling pitches... well that, paired with the step back our entire staff took this year, I'm curious what the interest is based on
He wasn't even going to the mound on time outs after about the 20th game this year. Seems like the coaches were not synced up. You know, like a 27 win team usually is.

Dave Schultz insists Deggs seat is now offically very warm. If Gunner ends up at a "better" program, whatever that means, the seat temperature goes up.

How are they able to leave if they signed a LOI?

What does that even mean anymore? Free transfers make the LOI worthless

That's why I don't follow recruiting these days. Who gives a crap if a top recruit commits or signs with you school if they can leave at anytime without any consequences.

Should coaches call pitches or catchers? If coaches how will catchers learn the skill?

It goes both ways. UL cut 4 kids that had already signed their LOI. Can't blame just the recruits

You don't have to enter the portal if you never attended school there. My understanding is the Portal is only for players that have already been at a school for a semester or more.

A national letter of intent is not legally binding. The NCAA can try to penalize but they will just lose in court.

LOI is gone with the settlement and new rules. Now players simply "sign" a grant in aid but can sign with as many schools as they want since nothing is legally binding.

Players that were cut before showing up on campus was due to the new roster limits. Those are now DSAs who do not count towards a teams roster limit. Trying to keep up with all these changes is damn near impossible.

Gunner told me and others he would like to coach in the majors, It that route begins in the minors I wouldn't be surprised. It would be a very bad look for the program if he ends up at Southern Miss.
