But according to one lost soul here, we couldn't afford to keep Napier any longer no matter what went down so I guess he wouldn't have been making 2.5 times what Des is after all.....

No, we are paying Des based off his experience. The money would've been there to go get one of these young and upcoming P5 assistants but MH/Maggard went the cheap route.

Once Florida entered the conversation and offered him boat loads of money, UL had no chance of keeping him. Like Vic said, if Napier turned down Florida, he would be making 10x Des's salary somewhere else.
