    We are using the portal.
That's our historical use of the Portal. Nearly EVERY FBS school in America has more than that this year alone.

Every football contract will resemble what Napier and Des started at. Somewhere in the $650-$800k range with incentives. The top range we can pay anyone is $2-2.5M. We won’t go over that and until we can poop another $25M in operating budget for athletics that’s where we will be.

It’s more important to have the funds for assistants and support staff. Keep bringing in really good athletes and develop them. That’s what this program is, like it or not. If we have a superstar underclassmen they will likely get poached. We simply can’t compete with the top 50 programs NIL budget wise.
I agree with the message in this post. I believe we are trying to solicit support from all types of donors. Results are of course less than we need. I think the reason is simple. Few people in the community really care, especially people of means. I am not sure how to make them care. I doubt winning is enough. That is not to say pack it in regardless of the great challenges. If we keep at it, we may find that someone who can make a difference. People on this board are on exception of course when it comes to care. I would never even ask what anyone donates to the program as that is personal and I don’t know financial situations of people. However it would not surprise me if people who make the most noise are the lowest level contributors. That is probably true from a direct standpoint and affordability. Why would we be a any different than society. 20 percent do 80 percent of work.

My point is, we use the portal. TxSt used it extensively under Spavital and they sucked.

It works for Colorado, that’s a one off situation. We aren’t them. They have $9.2M in NIL deals for their players. An average of $121k, yeah let’s go get the best guys. Come on man.

Our total NIL valuation according to ON3 is $268K. That for the entire roster.

If every team in the country uses the portal, then the portal only works for 50% of the schools.

. . . glad many here are getting some schooling and education on how the portal works, NIL works and what are our current financial circumstances as they relate to NIL, the hiring of CMD and Louisiana’s continued financial funding for support staff . . . maybe, just maybe that will spare the board of all of the constant and ill found postings relative to those issues which only the naive and those with lack of actual knowledge would make . . . let’s try and support our coach, players and staff and see how that turns out . . . peace in numbers, especially in matters we have absolutely no control over at this juncture could work wonders . . . especially since it is our only realistic choice . . .

    Yeah, yeah.. we get it..

We're broke and we hired what we could afford. We also threw $2 million dollars at our new bargain hire's assistant and support staff -- something you usually do to sweeten the pot to keep your existing coach (see Napier, Billy or Fritz, Willie).

We can't compete in NIL or the portal, so we choose the honorable path of recruiting and coaching up our players until they are talented enough to transfer to a P5 school.

We're broke so our hands are tied.

But our plan to turn it all around is renovate our existing stadium and that will cure all our ills.

The NIL collective gives our fans an easily accessible outlet to contribute to making a change in our current situation. We will never stop the blue bloods from poaching our players. Holding on to guys against other G5s is a very tangible goal. Hopefully this opening fundraiser (basketball) is a big success.

There are people not previously involved in strong support helping put this event on. That is encouraging. Hopefully lessons learned from the October 12 event can be used in helping other sports.

Also the administrations job to put butts in the seats. Everything is a damn excuse around here as to why it can't be / hasnt been done. Hud found a way to put butts in the seats. They literally have been given a blueprint how to do it. But all they do is sit on their damn hands, and people sit here and defend that crap! I will NEVER defend mediocrity. If some of you are OK with status quo, cool. And if not being OK with it makes me a bad/negative fan....so be it. I'll wear that crown.

Can we agree to at least give CMD more than one season and two games before we convince ourselves that we will be dealing with mediocrity for half a decade or more! A half decade would be 5 years, so let's at least finish season two before we jump off the cliff!
