I understand your point. At the same time, I have to disagree with the Indy Bowl thing. _

Just curious, what makes you think UL will bring 20 - 25K fans? We only average 21K a game. 10K might be a more realistic number. Houston has over 5,000 alums and we would likely have higher attendance there than in Shreveport.

I'm not saying that it's not true that Tech doesn't want to play a Belt team. That is true. I'm saying that position won't have anything to do with getting WMU.

This is the kind of stuff that makes for a great rivalry. Of course, you also have to play each regularly. I hope that happens in the near future, bowl game or no bowl game.

OK, I exaggerated a little bit. But I will say we bring at least 12k. First bowl game in 38 years, against TECH, pretty well known bowl. Now, I wouldn't mind Texas either just because like you said....the alumni base is strong and it's a quick drive from Lafayette. Wither one is fine with me just as long as we are playing.

If he says it's O.K. for us to root for the Red Wolves, I will. I will do so because if they win, we get another share of a conference championship and some more jewelry.

I will do so even though if we get those things, it will make me look like an even bigger bafoon than I do know to some on this board for ridiculing the staff as much as I do and calling for their jobs if we had lost to MT.

I will do so even though I know it probably means Bustle will get a hefty raise and extension with another championship.

Arkstfan is right. Simply root for Arizona and Arkansas State.

If they both win, we get it all.

A CHAMPIONSIP, RINGS, and a BOWL GAME.

That, my friend, would be pretty freakin' sweet.

Normally I would agree with you on Ark.St fan, but I don't agree with ASU winning does nothing to the Cajuns chances of a bowl. Sorry, matter of statisical chances Nation. ASU win adds another 7-5 team to a automatic bowl. It lessons the Cajuns chances of going to the Texas Bowl. I can promise you that our athletic department would agree because they have been told that is our best shot.

After today, no it won't have anything to do with it.

I swear there are less people there tonight than we probably had on Wednesday night!

I can also say with confidence that if the "choice" was between WMU and UL, the I-Bowl would select UL (and I would imagine Tech officials would support that decision...not that it matters). The only way WMU ends up at Indy is if Indy draws the short straw.
