1) because you drive somewhere you expect the team to drive? Makes zero sense
2 But you could just drive to Houston or New Orleans and catch the same flight or even take a bus right? But isn’t it nice when you fly home and you are in Lafayette? And don’t have to Hop skip and jump 3.5 hours from Houston? And that’s not after playing a football game.
While Southern Miss is a newcomer to the Sun Belt Conference and its West Division, the Louisiana-USM matchup is nothing new.
The two have met 21 times, most of those coming during the 1980s, but only four times since 1999. The Golden Eagles hold a 17-4 mark against the Ragin' Cajuns all-time.
UL coach Michael Desormeaux doesn’t have many memories of Southern Mississippi.
As a player, the one recollection is a night he’d like to forget — a 51-21 loss in Hattiesburg as Hurricane Gustav approached in 2008
here is a good USM podcast done by student's, one is my daughters boyfriend. Nice to hear them being respectful and giving well thought out analysis of both teams. It might be a good listen while driving over for the game.
