I still remember during the Bustle years being escorted out of Cajun Field AND tailgating area, and having our student IDs taken away, by UP simply for going halfway down the grass endzone hill with a player’s name painted on our chests.
Nazis, and it was half a dozen of them that came running after us. Had a real crime been committed at that time, they would have been too busy protecting everyone from us.
I just read the article that the advocate put out and apparently students that go to games will be entered into drawings for different reward perks like sitting courtside at a basketball game.
The question of how was almost immediately put on the backburner.
It didn’t take many discussions with UL students for the new athletic department’s marketing group to recognize what was needed.
The idea of the student’s tailgating area for Ragin’ Cajuns home football games being at Bourgeois Park_— across Cajundome Boulevard from the Lamson Park/Bourgeois Hall parking lot_— just no longer made sense.
