An offer this early serves two purposes, getting our name in early with a talented local athlete and getting him to camp next summer. Otherwise an offer this early really is worthless.

    I will oblige:

Recently during a conversation with Walker, I asked what camps he attended last summer. There were several; I recall Southern Miss, Tulane, Texas A&M, Alabama, LSU and UL. May have been one other. When asked to rate all the camps he commented on each one. Some were good others were not very well organized. (I will not make those public; however, a couple would surprise many of you...in particular, one). Next when asked to rate the various coaching staffs, he immediately responded UL had the best from top to bottom and he loved them. He continued and concluded by saying “Coach Napier is awesome and UL will have a major program in four years!” His excitement was evident catching me off guard. Reading the recent newspaper article Walker was quoted as saying he and his Dad loved the UL coaching staff. Everyone should recognize and accept the fact this young and mature ninth grader was speaking from his heart. Assuming Walker continues to improve, he will have offers from across the country. Knowing Jamie, he will encourage, push and provide his son with the best opportunities for a successful future. In my opinion, Walker will go with his heart and his Dad and family will support that decision. No doubt, the purple and gold blood runs thick but who knows at this point? Certainly a majority of you, including myself, ASSUMED Peyton Manning would have been a Rebel!!

Concluding, I have no idea what UL’s chances are with Walker; however, they are much better than winning the lottery, by far....

For the record, I bleed Vermilion and White! GEAUX CAJUNS!!

Sounds legit. Also, Jamie may not be as high on LSU as some would maybe think. His time there was up and down from what I remember, especially at the end when he had the poor game against Auburn. I think I remember him having to have some sort of security when he went to class.

As long as Napier and staff keeping making this kind of impression on top talent, we are going be better than we ever have before.

And this is why you offer. We lose nothing in offering him at this time.

We have NEVER had a staff willing to go after talent like this staff and they are impressing as well. As I stated in another thread recruits are impressed with the facilities as well; even in comparison to P5 facilities.
