I think I have been misunderstood. The kid is a great talent and more than likely will have several offers. I have no doubt that Walker is very much deserving of the offer. I just think the timing of the offer and the fact that he is only freshman has something to do with his pedigree. There is a reason he is the only freshman ever offered in the schools history to my knowledge.

At this point I think we are all just splitting hairs because everyone agrees that the kid is dang good and will probably end up in a power 5 conference.

I understood you also. The reason he might be the first freshman offered is because Napier is a different coach than we have had-ever. Maybe he wanted to make some noise, create some publicity, etc, etc, etc. I believe there are many reasons he offered Walker so early but none of them involve Jamie.

Quiet possibly a major reason is Napier observed him closely at the UL clinic, is aware of Walker’s relentless work ethic supported by Jamie, is aware he’s being tutored by Jake Delhomme, Tommy Hodson and others and last, but not least, Walker is rated the No. 9 2022 QB in the nation by one publication. Not sure if “Billy” needs any other justifications...

Very little; Holstein was the starter. Walker played lights out in freshman and junior varsity games.

I don’t believe he started for the varsity from what I read. He did play a few meaningless series. He started for the freshman and jv teams in the past.

I would be shocked. Holstein is a senior with multiple D-1 offers. I would think Howard will get some playing time. But you don’t bench a senior who has played well as Holstein

My "assumption", probably not. Holstein is being heavily recruited and has earned his spot. Surely STM is grooming Walker for his Junior and Senior years. Now does he get more playing time? Remains to be seen.

Hey I don’t follow stm. I have been told by several parents, of current football players, at stm, that walker is the best QB on that roster right now. I don’t know if that is true or not, but if that is the case then it’s a good question. Do you play the best or do you play the Sr?
