I know the kid is good. I personally know a kid that works with walker and Jake on a pretty regular basis and he tells me how good he is. I know walker will have many offers before it's all said and done. There are several freshman out there that project to be great players in the future why aren't we offering all them with 0 varsity starts? See my original statement and you'll get your answer. It’s all in the name recognition. I am not saying there is anything wrong with and the kid shouldn’t be offered. Just saying it is what it is.

Name a few freshman (in Acadiana) that project as high as Walker does. Just a couple would be sufficient.

I don’t stalk freshman to know there name but I can assure you in the 6 hr radius that coach talks about for recruiting there are several with P5 talent.

Possibly because Napier knows Walker personally, has spent a fair amount of time with him, seen him at camp, etc. Walker will have a lot of offers before he has any meaningful varsity stats. It won’t be because of Jamie!

Napier was a middle schooler in Georgia when Jaime started at LSU. I'm sure he has been given some background since his arrival in South La. but this ain't coach Blanco's team. Napier made an offer based on a number of factors but it isn't because of the name on his jersey.

I think I have been misunderstood. The kid is a great talent and more than likely will have several offers. I have no doubt that Walker is very much deserving of the offer. I just think the timing of the offer and the fact that he is only freshman has something to do with his pedigree. There is a reason he is the only freshman ever offered in the schools history to my knowledge.

At this point I think we are all just splitting hairs because everyone agrees that the kid is dang good and will probably end up in a power 5 conference.

I understood you. I don't think his pedigree had anything to do with it and you do. We both agree on his talent level, and is deserving of an offer. Not personally attacking you, just stating my opinion from my read on Napier's attitude.
