Because we don’t win.. And I don’t mean Sun Belt win.. We need to WIN.

People want to be a part of something special. Beating NMSU isn’t special. Even if you do it over and over again.

Bring Boise to town and win. Go beat a Kentucky or Ole Miss on the road, and then come home and dominate the conference. Do something special on national TV when the whole country is watching. That’s our problem.

I agree but another issue is that the atmosphere is terrible. In the last 6ish years the atmosphere has gone way down. There is zero excitement in the stadium and some of that is do to product but a lot of it is the fan base. We have a bunch of fans who would prefer to sit with their hands in their pockets...unless you stand in front of them while you are cheering, that's when you get asked to sit because they can't see.

This dead atmosphere is what causes a lot of people not to come back a 2nd time. Again winning will help but we need to up the atmosphere. Get the wine and cheese crowd to get excited and cheer.

Cincinnati is a 6-0, AAC, top 25 team. Not a great comparison.

Given the fact that no Sun Belt team ever has great attendance I’d say it is harder than rocket surgery.

That was my point, a winning team, regardless of the opponent is going to draw...i think Cincinnati is more of a peer than say Bama or MSU...

That's what I said earlier. Napier, like Saban, should be the one to say something. Coming from the coaches mouth will carry more water than what we might say. Napier should go on campus and address the students and get answers from them. Find out why they don't attend and work from there. The regular fan base is another issue that the administration should address. I don't read about any promotion being done in this area.....

Speaking out about attendance is a natural opportunity given that it's Homecoming...any other time, maybe not

I’m coming from Texas to go to the festival Friday, then football Saturday. Look for me, I’ll be the one eating lots of Cajun food, drinking lots of beer and dancing with my wife! Oh, wearing red also.

We’ve gotten so far away from what made sports so popular, across the board. The promotions and game day experience extras and video additions and on and on... were never meant to be the meat and potatoes of the sporting experience. It has become that way in small markets and in bad organizations since money infected the sporting world. Everyone wants a piece of the profit, no matter how it happens.

What made sporting events so great and so popular was passion, rivalries, hatred, tribalism and competition. Sanctioning bodies have removed all of that from the experience.

Here at UL, I’ve long said we shot ourselves in the foot by promoting our game experiences as “family friendly”. (Don’t get me wrong, I understand why we did it. It was out of necessity). You don’t see a lot of kids and families at SEC football games. You see rabid alumni, packed student sections, and away sections with virtually no home fan in sight. What makes the SEC such a good product is undoubtedly the talent on the field and the level of competition, coupled with the passion in the stands. The SEC figured out a long time ago that the hatred, passion and rivalry was the true marketing value of their sport.

You can’t duplicate passion.

Agree completely. We have a lot of things going on that for me kill the game day experience. I don't need the video board screaming at me to get loud. I much preferred the Halloween theme song on 3rd down.

This will make a lot of people upset but the kids run to start the game is terrible. I understand the kids get to go on field and all but it screams small time. It kills me every game when the announcer says "its a new Cajun field tradition". If its new, its not a tradition.

College Football games at Cajun Field need to be more collegiate(BAND) and more about actual football(LESS VIDEO GAZING). Also, they need to be less about being a daycare and being an obnoxious Hip Hop/dance review/mix master deafening wall of CRAP.

You know what creates atmosphere? An active, engaged, present student section with raucous, creative chants and cheers.

We have lost sight of why we are here. It feels like we are trying to recreate the Tigue experience at Cajun Field. It does not work in college football and never will.
