Just a bunch of family picnics on a lazy old Saturday afternoon watching the kids play.

We are so stupid with this nonsense.
At least she didn't breast feed it in front of you...

Only telling this story, because it's funny and I think I remember you are from Erath. We were at a CHS vs Erath game several years ago at CHS. It was maybe during the second Faurroux era, or something, but regardless Erath was expecting to be very competitive and brought a lot of fans. Back then, one section of the "home" side was reserved for visitors, because our visitor stands used to suck bad, bad. Erath brought so many that some spilled over into the center "home" section, and some of them were right by my dad and I. So halftime arrives, and the Erath band comes out play. My dad and I start talking about the game, or the UL game the next day or something and this Erath fan (older lady) turns to us and "shhhhhhhh-es" us for talking while the band was playing. We got shushed, at our house, during halftime of a football game. My dad and I just looked at each other and laughed.....CHS whipped that ___ that night I think....

The truth is that in the Current SunBelt unless we are winning consistently we will not draw great. I dream of a conference with Regional teams like LA Tech, Tulane, Houston, Southern Miss, even ULM. Teams with fan bases that we can develop real regional rivalries. We will never have a big rivalry with Troy, Georgia State, Appalachian st., Coastal carolina etc. Sorry but Arkansas State and new football members like South Alabama just is not enough to interest the common fan. When you don't have great teams you need games that at least keep the fans interested.

Conference realignment has really done a disservice to the fan bases of regional non p5 schools.

With all that said still no excuse not to get better student attendance.

Winning with our current conference would get us to 25K average, 35k peaks. Winning with the conference you describe (EL-A Tech, Tulane, Houston, Southern Miss, ___k ULM) would get us 35K average 45K peak. Maybe more.

Exactly...currently the Mountain West and MAC are setup ideally geographically. The AAC/C-USA and Sun belt do not make sense. Imagine something like this. Doubt this could ever happen but it would make sense. You could easily make a viable conference with just 10 of the teams below as well.

    East:
    Tulane
    UL
    ULM
    LA Tech
    Arkansas St.
    UAB
    Southern Miss

    West:
    Houston
    UTEP
    UTSA
    Rice
    North Texas
    Tulsa
    SMU

Tulane, UH, Tulsa, and SMU are not leaving the AAC for this proposed conference.

Bring Boise to town and win. Go beat a Kentucky or Ole Miss on the road, and then come home and dominate the conference. Do something special on national TV when the whole country is watching. That's our problem.
Winna Winna Chicken Dinna..... Spot on MAT and very realistic. We don't WIN. People won't get all geeked up beating sub par competition until you WIN against a reputable program. My guess regarding attendance is sub 20K but don't worry, Jay will add at least 10K to the reality.

Then quit _____ing about attendance and asking why we don't draw better crowds. The reason is what it is. Enjoy the Belt and the downsides that come with it.

Personally I will always be looking for this university to put itself and our programs in a better position. We have been loyal to the SBC for a very long time all factors considering.

Those AAC teams probably won't go anywhere, but some type of C-USA/Sun Belt geographical reorganization is likely and would boost attendance with more regional rivals.
