I understand the tickets sold. But the comment is always, "they didn't have near that many at the game"..turnstiles will answer that question. So why scan tickets when you enter if the count is always tickets sold. They know the attendance well before hand. They have the season tickets counted and the ones that buy at the Cajun dome or at the game ticket office is auto counted, so why scan?

Yeah i know, don’t you feel like an idiot. I’ve Known plenty of A students who were worthless and unemployable...but were great at turning in assignments they copied from C students and great at memorizing.

They scan them so only one person can get in on a ticket.

OK. I've got an opening for an entry level position. I've got resumes from five people with 3.5 GPAs or better, and one from a graduate with a 2.3. I promise you, the 2.3 won't even get a wiff unless all five of the others don't work out in the interview.

Now, for the second job, I agree, grades don't matter nearly as much. I'm interested in performance. But, until I can measure performance I have to place importance on grades. And, if I thought a university were bumping up grades for attending sports, I'd have to think long and hard about giving interviews to that school's graduate for entry level positions.

Dude, catch a grip. Teachers give extra points for stupid crap that will not have one iota of a chance to help these kids or their employers in the game of life. Social skills, meeting new people, learning to enjoy and get excited about aspects of your school that you can use for entertaining and contacts latter in life might. You probably one that hires solely on the GPA. Good luck with that.

I did. More crap. Like I said, go solely with your GPA, you may take some undesirables out of the market so others will not bare the risk of those.

And good lordy golly, I just suggested a minor benefit not a whole damn grade level on every class they take.

OK. I can understand that you disagree. However, purposefully or not, you have completely misrepresented what I have written. At NO point have I written or intimated that I hire solely based on GPA. And, have specifically written that, after the first job, performance is a better measuring stick. I also wrote that for entry level jobs I would give interview preference to candidates with the superior GPA. I did NOT write, or intimate, that GPA was the final criteria, merely that it is the starting point.

Please, if you disagree, disagree with what I have written. I'm pretty good at writing, and usually you don't need to surmise.

Continue writing because it will take you much to get out this mole hill you turned into a mountain.

And for your hypo, you comparing students who made the deans list with those that barely passed college by the skin on their chinny, chin chin. No amount of extra points would ever be given or even suggested to sway that gpa analysis.

You are the one that over reacted to the mere suggestion then embarked on exaggeration to make your argument.

    Get to writing, my friend.

If it was a molehill before I wrote, it is still a molehill. You wrote that extra credit should be given for attending sporting events. Although you did not specifically state so, you implied that this should be some sort of official university policy. I simply stated that, as an employer, I dd not think this is a good idea. See, isn't that simple?
