During a Louisiana summer I’ll take a light rain over sunshine any day. The early downpours and the gametime forecasts probably kept a lot of people at home yesterday but I selfishly enjoyed not sitting in an oven for 3 hours.
Just read an article about the dropping of attendance at college football games. Out of 100+ schools reporting their attendance, it was reported that the scanned count was about 50% lower than the reported attendance. Now that a real discrepancy. It was reported that Michigan reports in their figures the security, band, concession workers, etc. in their count. It was also report that only one college report the actual count, that's Navy. They use turnstiles only and the AD said that they report actual butts in seats and not no shows.....so what does UL do in this respect. Got this report off my I-phone news app.......
Let's just all say in unison.....THEIR IS NO CONSISTENCY. I have said it many times. You need turnstiles. One go through, one counted....end of story.
Well, they will always count tickets sold so turnstiles are useless. But they should add to tickets sold students scanned in. And maybe it they added a bonus point or too for grades for some type regular attendance that can be grabbed from the scan it could get more of them there.
Yes, because if I'm an employer I'd be thrilled to death to know that that engineering graduate that I think was a "B" student was actually a "C" student who liked attending football games. Exactly the qualifications I'm looking for when hiring for my mission critical project.
