Hold on Yokal, Vic has not a damn thing to do with hiring practices. He only suggested that it may have a possibility of increasing student ATTENDANCE (which is what this thread is about) if some benefit were bestowed for ATTENDANCE of sporting events.

Cov had a fit and wants to discount the value of a degree received from Louisiana if any (even minimal) such benefit is given. That needs to be responded to.

FWIW, I like your idea, and have made similar suggestions for Freshman level classes. I would never suggest extra points for engineering or nursing, etc.

Example. Engineering student takes 15 hours, 3 are a required psyc class. Student makes A's in all his engineering, math and sciences but falls a couple points short on his psyc class. Boy it would be nice to keep that 4.0 by going to a couple of football games. Maybe limit the benefit to non-core courses.

Right here..you said that right here, because you have no idea how a student achieved a “B” or a “C”

Attendance was much better than I expected given the inherent weather conditions. The performance by the team was good, gameday experience seemed to be better than in the past, Grambling fans had a great showing and I enjoyed it all very thoroughly.

Maybe I am just overly optimistic, but the crowd was about what I suspected, I think I predicted 32k. Grambling and Southern will always bring in more Cajun fans than your normal FCS team, because of the bands. Not saying it is 2x the attendance, but I would guess 2-3k. Don't get the same attendance for Southeastern, Northwestern, Nicholls or even McNeese.

On another note, can we move the employment thread to it's own thread?

I wouldn't expect a "Rainman" prediction to be deterred by the weather.

What was VERY good to hear was that the Head Coach did not spend his post game interview calling out the fan base for how they supported a lack luster team.

Napier commented on his team and the way THEY performed and what he needs to work on. That was refreshing to hear!

Also, great showing for Cajun Fans for this game!

I wish I could have been in that number but was listening/watching.

Currently trying to work out plans to take a quick trip over to Lafayette to catch a game while I am in the Lower 48 On a business trip this fall.

Thanks for the info on usl grades...I always was told that once you paid 4-5 years of tuition you were awarded a degree...no one told me that you had to also show up for classes...still passing them is not a requirement yet...

I don't think you get what I a saying. I said why scan. Just tear off the stub. If the attendance count is generated by tickets sold than you don't have to scan the tickets. Now with a turnstile you can get the exact count if that is what they want to report. In other word tickets sold and actual butts in seats. I turnstile is more accurate and those little devices they use that work maybe 3/4 of the time.

Turnstiles are antiquated and will never be installed. L'auberge casino had them when it first opened and had enough complaints that they took them out.
