New Turf on Cajun Field

Was in Lake Charles today and was curious as it were true mickey neese was getting turf, sure enough, the foundation is laid and they are well on their way of getting turf too. I guess the only schools left to getting turf will be Grambling, Southern, MCNichols, SLUUUU, and lswho.

Gonna be interesting recruiting tool don't you think.

For informational purposed only, Nichols and SLU already have turf and as you noted, McNeese is in progress.

I've heard that we'll also have a series of picture updates on ours. But I'm not holding my breath, and, it would actually mean that they'd have to start.

I have been keeping up with McNeese's field's pics, mainly just to see how the process works, and its pretty interesting.

When slu returned football to Hammond one of the local state legislators got some fat cat (with no affiliation to slu, if I remeber correctly) to put up a large sum of money to renovate Strawberry Stadium and that incuded atrificial turf. So the slu turf is several years old.

The Manning family paid for the turf at Nicholls because Guidry Stadium and NSU is now the home of the Manning Passing Academy. I think the MPA used to be in Hammond but I guess it moved when slu brought football back; not sure why the two couldn't co-exist.

Check back in a year and see the New Field House that will tower over one end zone which will have a fan friendly concourse. The unique thing about our little stadium is that it is CLEAN!! CLEAN!! NO MILDEW!!

I thought UL was trying to save on paint with your stadium "Mildewed-in" with that Natural Black Look. Gosh man! Take some pride in your facilities.
