A year ago, some (granted it was only a few) were advocating for a coaching change. Now some are hoping we don't lose him to another program. Best way to minimize the risks of that happening is to have big crowds next Thursday and Saturday.

And with all of what's going on in NCAA basketball, there may be quite a few P5 openings this offseason

Seeing what I've seen from Maggard, I wouldn't mind a sweet 16 run and a new hire.

Only because I want the sweet 16 run. LOL

Hell, if we were to make the tournament and advance, I'd bet that Marlin's phone starts ringing. See Chris Beard from UALR a few years ago.
Marlin has put his name in for several jobs and has gotten nothing back. The word is he is interested in the Ole Miss job again, and his agent has sent out feelers to gauge the interest. Regardless, I don't want my coaches retiring here in Lafayette on the golf course. If he gets the big payday, then great for him and his family. But, I won't be losing any sleep over it.

An SEC job is something that would interest many fine coaches. There are not many of those around.

Bob Marlin is a good guy, runs a clean program and graduates his athletes. His success will mean good things for our program whether he stays or goes.

Maybe but it could also mean you hit the reset button like UALR did and I don't want to be in that boat again.

Let's reset, if that's what it takes to make a run deep into the NCAA tournament.

Seriously, we're playing to be mediocre so we don't have to reset? Go big or go home. Let's get deep into the tourney. I trust Maggard to figure the rest out.

Ole Miss may be looking for an honorable older coach, but almost every power team wants a much younger successful coach.

Bob still has to beat the field to get into the NCAA, and I’d think get past the round if 32. After all, he’s actually got very few skins on the wall when it comes to P5 teams.
